HELP-tempted beyond my willpower

someone tell me quick how wrong and stupid i am to even think about cheating on my husband.. i've met someone that has swept me off my feet and with my newfound freedom from leaving the borg, i feel like i'm going through a mid-life crisis or something.

i'm very tempted to have an affair.

i mean, extremely tempted.

Thank you for the good advice and reminders everyone. Fortunately I have to go out of town for a couple days on business so I'll be far away from temptation temporarily.
But, it's so hard.
He's a retired professional soccer player, who reads poetry, listens to classical music and who likes to sit at the coffee shop talking about god, life, etc. OH MAN, great bod and a mind! And romantic, damn! It's going to be difficult, that's all I can say, but I really just like the attention, I don't want to do anything to ruin my marriage. My marriage used to be quite bad, but now that I'm out of the cult mindset it's been better than ever. So you'd think it would be easy for me to avoid another man. Where was this guy when my husband was staying out all hours on meeting nights? IT's not fair, you know. I'm mad at this situation because I hate to lose control over my life. My business is soaring, life's going great and now all I can do is think about seeing this guy. I hate this rollercoaster.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have a couple days to really think this over, that should help too.

Boys Scouts & WBTS

as little jws, my brothers and i weren't allowed to join the boys scouts as it was affiliated with the catholic church.

on the other hand, the wbts can affiliate with whom she wants, such as ngo, firephim, etc., etc.

(romains 2:21-23).

My daughter just joined girl scouts (she's 11). We're getting a late start, but at least she can still be in it. They did teach the girls to lower and raise the flag for a flag ceremony, but all the other things have been very fun like camping, building a campfire and cooking over a fire.
My daughter told a witness friend and she had a horrible shocked look come over her face. I can't believe the restrictions that were placed over us, ridiculous.

My daughter is absolutely loving it.

mabey not all of them, but the one's i've been exposed to so far have some serious mental problems.

and for the record i'm not talking about their religious beliefs, i'm basing my opinion on direct actions taken by the ones that i have had personal experience with.. thought some of you might be interested in the things that have been going on with me and jon's family.

One of the things that finally convinced me that I should leave the "truth" was that the only ones in my family that were witnesses were also "whacko". IT's very hard to try and justify it as being the "truth" when you only have a handful of people that actually believe and those same people are just plain nuts. That really made me start to want to shake it off and get as far away as I could. All I could imagine was that I must be like them and that's a very scary thought!

Don't let him harrass you. Get him on film and make sure you let others know how he's treating you. Just think how proud JOn would be of you if you help expose the nuttiness for others to see and stay away from.

I feel so much healthier being away from the witnesses. I think if you're not crazy when you go in, you'll end up messed up just through the teachings and the negativity, etc. It's just too hard to be a happy , well adjusted individual when you're taught such crazy things.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to bring back such bad feelings for you. Just reading about it makes me feel horrible. I don't want to be the one to cause that kind of heartache. Actually, my husband is so happy that I'm away from the witnesses that he's been nicer to me. It used to be he'd be at the bar when I would drag the kids to the meetings and there's still a lot of resentment. I know that he wasn't as happy as he is now and yet, I feel like I missed out and am not totally thrilled to know that I wasted time trying to be the "good" wife while he did what he wanted while I had the kids all the time!

I'm taking a few days to go on a writing job so maybe I can take some time to think about what I'm doing before I make any mistakes. I know in my heart that it's not right to do. And, I do know that this other guy and I don't have any chance for a real relationship. It's just so nice to be treated like I'm special. Like I'm more than just furniture, you know?

I remember when my dad cheated onmy mom and I never would have thought I could do something like that to someone I love. I guess it's something that sort of sneaks up on you.
Thank you for telling me what you did, it helped. I can't say for sure what I'll do, but I'm going to try and avoid being alone with the other guy.

I'm thinking maybe I'm feeling this way too because I've lost so many friends and I'm feeling lonely and blue so much of the time and Wham, a guy who makes me feel sexy, beautiful and young. Why is life always throwing challenges at us? Why can't my husband be more like this guy? AAAAAHHHHHH

need help please!

i have a friend that got dsfd last month.she has a sister that is being woken up in the middle of the night and can feel something on top of her chest.

she is convinced that it is a demonic attack.interstingly their mother said it is because she has accepted literature from the dsf sister!.

well i have explained to her that it is a medical condition.

I had this exact same terrifying experience when I started studying again with the Witnesses. I was told it was the demons trying to be mean to me and scare me away from studying the Bible. I had prior witness knowledge from being raised for several years as a child so I knew to say "Jehovah" and it went away. I was so terrified I have not slept on my back for years.
UNTIL I came to this forum and found out it was a medical condition. It was such a relief to find this out and it really shattered the demon myths I'd been taught. I feel so free of all that. What a blessing, thanks to the people on this board for showing that information to me. I hope it helps your friend.

Help!! I am extremely confused.

i'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.

i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.

also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

Well, if it's a cultish religion they do!

A friend of mine was a mormon years back and she said it really did a number on her. But, she's glad she left, but she still has doubts sometimes.
The more you learn, the less doubts you'll have.
My whole family is sooooo much happier now. I feel a great weight lifted off my shoulders and I think that God wanted me to find the truth and have that freedom to live life to the fullest. I've always felt like he really cared about me. I still do, but my image of him is changing.

Be true to yourself and your heart. Do you really love the "truth" or do you do it because of fear and guilt? Truth isn't just information, it's living in it too.

I feel so relieved to hear that you fell asleep too while fervently praying for forgiveness for not living up to the "standards". It was filling me with constant guilt and I was never happy.
One meeting after dragging the kids out on a snowy night and getting in late, with disapproving looks from Ms. Superior Pioneer I just thought "Why the hell am I here tonight?". Then I swear I heard Jesus say "my load is light" and after that I decided not to return. I felt a "heavy load" lifted off my shoulders. Venturing into sites like these on the web have been a great help breaking free too.

Thanks for sharing that, it helps a lot to hear.

Jon passed away this morning

my name is kevin and i am jon's partner.

jon gave me his password a few weeks ago and asked me to post to the board if something happened to him.

as some of you know jon had been undergoing cancer treatment since the end of july.

I'm so sorry.
Jon certainly had a great personality, it was obvious by his posts even if we didn't know him in person. I think you're doing the right thing by honoring his wishes. He wanted you to take care of things because he trusts you, not anyone else. When I die, I hope my true love is there with me too, holding my hand.

He will be missed, thank you for letting us know.
